This session introduces people to the basics of bookbinding and gives them a taster of the craft and enables them to make a small notebook. 10.00am to midday in the Avon room.

For complete beginners, this is Part 2 of the first unit in the Level 1 C&G certificate in Bookbinding, where you will gain a core knowledge of the basic skills and make single and multi-section bindings in quarter, half and full cloth.  To book a place on the above course please email: [email protected] 

For those with a little bookbinding experience, this course is the second unit necessary for the Level 1 C&G certificate in Bookbinding, where you will learn how to make two different types of photograph album, one with folded guards, and one with stiff boards, and a lined cloth slipcase.

BBV is producing new Explorer notebooks for sale through the charity and these production sessions (held at The Daffodil Barn) are for anyone who might  like to help with the making of these products, regardless of the experience you might have with bookbinding. Part of our Storage and Enclosures programme for C&G Level 3, you will learn to make a classic artist’s portfolio with three inner flaps and ribbon ties, and a lift-off lid/chocolate box.  Some bookbinding experience is necessary.
